Master the Art of Open Source Intelligence (OSINT)
18 – 19th November 2025 | Clarion Hotel Jätkäsaari, Helsinki Finland
Join internationally recognized OSINT specialists Ben Owen and Danni Brooke for a comprehensive two-day training on Open Source Intelligence techniques. Gain practical skills, certification, and immediate career benefits.

What is OSINT and Why It Matters
The Power of Public Information
Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) is the practice of collecting and analysing publicly available information to support decision-making, investigations, and threat detection. In today's digital society, where individuals and organisations leave extensive online footprints, OSINT has become a vital tool in cybersecurity, law enforcement, intelligence, and corporate security.
Follow the Footprints: Why OSINT is a Game-Changer?
• Reveal hidden connections and digital footprints for investigations.
• Identify how public information can be exploited for malicious purposes.
• Enable early threat detection through real-time monitoring.
The challenge now is the overwhelming volume of data and the ease with which threat actors can exploit public information for malicious purposes, from social engineering and identity theft to surveillance and reputational damage. As technology evolves, so too does the threat landscape. Future trends point toward greater integration of OSINT with AI, automation, and real-time monitoring to pre-empt attacks and mitigate risk before harm occurs.

MODULES
1. INTERNET COMPLEXITIES
Clients will be given a broad understanding of the complexities of the Internet and how it functions, thus enabling a more efficient search strategy. Given the constant shift of law, legislation and upgraded tools and techniques it is imperative that one understands how the Internet functions, and all of its complex nuances.
2. INTERNET INTELLIGENCE
Gathering intelligence is one thing, but what do we do with it when we have it. Intelligence comes in different ‘shapes and sizes’, so we must apply a grading of worth to that intelligence. Is the intelligence factual, or is it speculation and supposition. We must understand these complex areas before making an assessment on the next steps in the intelligence cycle. We must also be firmly aware of what we are reporting, particularly if the report is bound for the judicial system. We refer to the National Intelligence Model and also provide case studies from the intelligence community to help delegates better comprehend this important module.
3. SOCIAL MEDIA INTRODUCTION
Social media intelligence is a key part of online intelligence gathering. We outline many areas of social media, including regional social media preferences and what this means to the investigator. • Instagram • Twitter • YouTube • Facebook • TikTok • Reddit • BeReal • Snapchat • And more..
4. GEOLOCATION INTELLIGENCE
Geolocation intelligence gathering can be crucial in gathering evidence of locations, people and assets. This can be integral to broaden the intelligence picture in many areas of investigation from tracing persons, stolen goods, movement of assets, and much more. • Geolocation introduction • Geolocation scraping tools • Google Earth • Location services • Google Maps • Image & video analysis
5. IMAGERY INTELLIGENCE
A picture paints a thousand words’. What can an image or video yield for an investigator? We will show you how to extract useful metadata, geo location data and much more. What every investigator also needs is an open mind and the training to investigate the image itself. This is particularly important now that many social media sites strip the metadata behind the image/video. We will show you how to carefully piece together the clues in the image itself to enhance your investigations. Numerous reverse image search techniques are demonstrated in this module as well as how to spot fake images and/or videos.
6. PUBLIC RECORDS
Public records can often hold the ‘key’ that is needed for progression in online investigations. This could be from birth records, marriage records, wills, business information and much more. We will demonstrate a whole raft of different global databases which will ensure you can retrieve factual information to progress your investigations.
7. ONLINE MARKETS
If things are stolen or fraudulently acquired, they are often sold online. In this section we look at some of the common places stolen goods are sold online and how we can identify them. Furthermore, we will also demonstrate how to identify the persons behind the sale.
8. SEARCHING IDENTIFIERS
Criminals and fraudsters will seldom use their own details to conduct illicit activity online. We will show delegates how to uncover the real-persons behind social media accounts, emails and phone-numbers where the opportunities present themselves.
9. OPERATIONAL SECURITY (OPSEC)
Conducting online investigations can only be conducted effectively with a strong security plan. We will show you how to remain anonymous whilst conducting intelligence gathering online, including the use of VPN’s, anonymity browsers, and tools to ensure that no one is tracking your web movements, and more.
10. THE DARK WEB
A high-level introduction to the dark web will be provided to show delegates the ways in which criminals collect, share and target companies. We will show how to navigate around the dark web in a safe manner to collect intelligence.
